| What are your reasons for deciding to visit a certain country or place?
I would like to give you my top ten reasons why you should consider
visiting Iceland. 1. Enjoy Our Unique Nature
Nature is our greatest treasure. Incredible, unforgettable unique
places all over the country. Waterfalls of every size, mountains, glaciers,
hot springs, the highlands. New and different things every 10 miles.
Don’t forget your digital camera :-) or you’ll be very sorry. 2. Enjoy our Weather which is Still Weather... Now what do I mean by that? Simply that in Iceland you can expect ALL
kinds of weather and sometimes it doesn’t really matter what season there
is. You still have to take into account that the weather can change in
a minute and pack accordingly. This can be GREAT FUN! 3. The Silence I do hope you enjoy silence at times. Because we have such a lot of
uninhabited wide open spaces where the only sounds you are likely to
hear are the birds singing or sounds from a river running, a waterfall
falling or simply the sounds of the weather... 4. Fresh Air
Fortunately our air is unpolluted and we are proud of the fact that it’s
so clean and fresh. Enjoy it, it is incredibly refreshing.
5. Hot Pots and Thermal Pools
It is easy to get addicted to Iceland’s Spas with their hot pots and thermal pools in every community, indoor or outdoor. It is a luxury for almost no
money at all! 6. Adventures and Activities
Now, here I have to say that this will cost you a bit... - You can choose from
amazingly many activities during your stay in Iceland. Riding, diving, trekking,
swimming, whale watching, dog sledding, angling, snowmobiling, jeep tours,
or even take your family on a nature watching cruise! 7. The Icelandic Horse Ah.... The Icelandic horse has a special place in my own heart and
I urge you to get to know it while in Iceland. Go horseback riding, preferably
somewhere in the countryside where you can enjoy nature at the same time.
Your children will absolutely love this. 8. The Midnight Sun See the sun set at midnight during the summer... I cannot imagine a more
perfect or romantic moment... - You may already know that in high summer
the sun goes down around midnight and rises almost immediately again... 9. The Northern Lights ...And if you come during wintertime (also an adventurous time of year!) you
have the chance to see the northern lights (aurora borealis) in all their
splendor if the evenings are cold and the sky is clear. No promises though...
it ALL depends on the weather! 10. The Highlands Some visitors come to Iceland and never experience the highlands. But if
you have the opportunity to take a trip there, by all means do! It will be the
experience of your life - the highlands with their desert like stillness and natural
wonders. But note: You can only visit the highlands during high summer,
otherwise the mountain tracks are closed. |
